Angelenah - I Don't Regret a Thing

Angelenah is the Minneapolis-based, Chicago born-and-raised artist that you probably best know for her work in the groups Rapperchicks and more recently, Big $ilky. She released a single as a solo artist in 2020, but 2018 was really the last time we heard a proper project from her, when she dropped the EP, Sore but Grateful. Now she’s back and ready to kick things up a notch with her new EP, I Don’t Regret a Thing.

Brandon Isaac & Free Mind - The North Star: Love of the Art

Brandon Isaac is an artist from Cincinnati who only started releasing music a few years ago, but he has hit the ground running, showing a lot of growth and working on some interesting collaborations along the way. In August of last year, he teamed up with a producer from Los Angeles named Free Mind to release an album called The North Star. Now they are back for round two, with The North Star: Love of the Art.

NNAMDÏ - Please Have a Seat

Chicago vocalist/emcee/producer/multi-instrumentalist NNAMDÏ has been building up his solo career for a minute now, but he has also been a part of different bands such as Monobody and Nervous Passenger. He started focusing on his solo career more in 2017, with the release of the excellent LP DROOL. He followed that up with a busy 2020, releasing two LPS, BRAT and Krazy Karl. Now he returns with a new full-length album, Please Have a Seat.

Lex the Lexicon Artist - Daughters of Ymir

Lex the Lexicon Artist is an emcee originally from Taiwan, but started her music career in the Bay Area before moving on to New York. She’s been putting out music for the last five years, quickly getting embraced by the nerdcore scene and beyond, with two excellent LPs and numerous themed projects, collaborations and more. There have been singles and features since then, but the last substantial project we got from Lex was 2020’s Lex and the City.

Zepeda - Private Passageway

Zepeda is a producer from Portland, Oregon who has been releasing music since the mid-2010s. Over the years, he’s worked with artists like akamato, and he recently produced several tracks for OKnice’s most recent album, Have You Tried Being Happy? Now he’s releasing a short instrumental project, Private Passageway. A lot of the times, when you see a release like this on paper, it looks like a beat dump. Some producer is just clearing out his hard drive, and here’s about fifteen minutes worth of unfinished beats that sound okay.

Brycon - The Tremont Waters EP

Bay Area producer Brycon has had a very busy 2022, with five different projects already released this year, including albums with Professa Gabel and Equipto. He’s not done yet, though, as he’s already back with a surprise instrumental EP, The Tremont Waters EP. The Tremont Waters EP is the type of release that only a veteran producer like Brycon can pull off. By that I mean that this is a short project, with five tracks just cracking the ten-minute mark.

Perera Elsewhere - Home

Perera Elsewhere is the alias of Sasha Perera, who you might know as the deejay Mother Perera, or as part of the group Jahcoozi, who were signed to Peaches’ label Kitty-Yo in the mid-2000s. For nearly the last ten years, however, the London-born, Berlin-based artist has been carving out a unique solo career under the name Perera Elsewhere. Her last release came out in 2019, Thrill EP. Now she has returned with one of the most ambitious projects of her career, Home.

billy woods x Messiah Musik - Church

billy woods has always worked at a pretty prolific pace, whether it be as a solo artist, alongside ELUCID as part of the group Armand Hammer, or teaming up for one-off collaborations like he did with Moor Mother. That said, he already dropped one excellent solo full-length album earlier this year, Aethiopes, which was produced by Preservation. Which meant that most of us weren’t expecting another full-length from him. woods continues to surprise, though, as he now comes back with yet another album, this time produced by Messiah Musik, Church.

Claud Six - Just in Case We Make It

Portland, Oregon artist Claud Six has certainly kept himself busy over the years, working not only as a solo artist, but also as part of groups like Jellyfish Brigade, Shut-ins and the Colony, Hives Inquiry Squad, BCxLD, and R4PC4MP. Earlier this year, Six dropped a project called In Case We Shouldn’t Make It, an album inspired by the feelings of anxiety and doom brought on by the last two years. Now he returns with the companion album, Just in Case We Make It.

Andy Cooper - Kid Hop

Andy Cooper is known to hip hop heads of a certain age as one third of the Long Beach group Ugly Duckling. After releasing their last album, Moving At Breakneck Speed, in 2011, we didn’t hear from anyone for until a few years later, when Cooper emerged as a solo artist. Since then, he’s kept pretty busy, with four full-length albums and a mess of singles and features to his name.
