Freddie Losambe is an artist from South Burlington, Vermont, who has been releasing music for well over a decade now. Just this past February, he released a self-produced EP called daydreams & folly. Now he’s connected with another Vermont artist, producer Rico James, to drop an EP called The Divine Comedy.

Rico James is a producer from Burlington who has also been around for about a decade, and among his many collaborations, he is part of Jade Relics, alongside Elder Orange and Iame. As you might imagine, Losambe and James found each other a few years back, and have collaborated off and on. For this particular project, you can see why Losambe would have wanted to work with James, who is giving him these really intense and soulful beats that just immediately draw you in. Everything is really deliberately paced, with these really nice pockets that give Losambe plenty of room to do his thing. And that’s exactly what he does. Losambe has a really nice low voice that resonates well on the microphone, allowing him to match the intensity of these beats, but it also encourages him to really go in on these personal and philosophical rhymes, the kind that both connect with you as a listener, but also will make you want to sit with the music for a bit you can fully soak it in. It’s only a five song project, but everything is so beautiful, passionate, and delivered with such gusto, it feels like a much more substantial release.

The Divine Comedy is for those that want to dive into some emotional boom bap. Freddie Losambe and Rico James put a lot of themselves into this project, and it comes through time and again.
