Exalt the Anti is a relatively new group from Los Angeles featuring Gel Roc, Megabusive, and Deeskee. Last summer, they released their first album, Hip Hop Against the World. Now they’ve come back with a follow up EP, Failure To Comply.

Exalt the Anti is exactly what you want from three Project Blowed veterans like these artists, and this EP is an extension of their first album is every sense. You get five new songs, produced by the likes of Awkward and Avatar, along with Megabusive and Deeskee, plus two remixes of songs from the album, “STORY MORALS” and “LA2THEBAY & BACK (featuring Rakaa Iriscience from Dilated Peoples).” Everything about this is just classic L.A. underground, to the dark, weird, aggressive beats, to the lyrical tongue twisters laid down by Gel Roc and Megabusive, to the tight, percussive scratching thrown down by Deeskee. It might be missing that one standout moment that would take something like this over the top, but there’s not a weak moment either. This just about three guys who have been making it happen in Los Angeles for years coming together to make some music and having fun in the process. This will sound great pumping in your car stereo or soundtracking your next summer cookout.

Sometimes meeting expectations is all you need, especially when you’ve got a group of talented Project Blowed artists like Exalt the Anti. These guys got right to the point on Failure To Comply, and delivered some great underground L.A. hip hop, just like we all knew they could. The beats bang, the rhymes are packed with verbal acrobatics, and the scratching brings that third heat to the equation and brings it all together.
