Sweatson Klank is a producer from L.A. who has been making music for quite some time, previously working under the name TAKE before switching over to the current name in the 2010s. He’s been working at a pretty steady pace the entire time, with his last album, Super Natural Delights, coming out just last summer. Now he’s back with another full-length, Good Days.

Sometimes you don’t need to overthink things. On Good Days, Sweatson Klank isn’t trying to do anything fancy – he’s just laying down some great instrumental grooves based on the music that he loves. For the most part, that means some beautiful downtempo tracks, but it also means that we get a little bit of house, some R&B, some electro-boogie, some funk, and a little jazz, all thrown in for good measure. The result is an album that is really pleasant to listen to, but also keeps you on your toes just enough to keep the interest going from start to finish. It won’t blow you away at first, since Klank is working in a much more subtle style on this album, but it will sneak up on you and continue to grow on you the more you listen to it. It’s an album that sounds really great on headphones, walking around the city on a sunny afternoon, since Klank has infused the album with a really bright and warm sound to it.

Good Days is the soundtrack for just that. Sweatson Klank has made a feel good instrumental album with a lot of really nice grooves that you can just vibe out to and enjoy your day. It’s the type of smart, mature, and enjoyable album that you’d expect from a veteran producer like Sweatson Klank.
