Bay Area producer Brycon has had a very busy 2022, with five different projects already released this year, including albums with Professa Gabel and Equipto. He’s not done yet, though, as he’s already back with a surprise instrumental EP, The Tremont Waters EP.

The Tremont Waters EP is the type of release that only a veteran producer like Brycon can pull off. By that I mean that this is a short project, with five tracks just cracking the ten-minute mark. With a lesser artist all indications would be that this is just a filler release, maybe just a beat dump. However, it doesn’t take long once you press play on this EP to get completely sucked into Brycon’s musical world and realize that is a project with some real substance to it. It’s not even that he’s doing anything too crazy or unexpected, it’s just that he’s so clever with his sample flips, whether it be obscure soul or reggae records he’s pulling from the crates, and he’s so good at creating memorable hooks and funky grooves, which in turn create this really fun soundscape that you can rock to. It’s quick trip, but everything flows so well and is so inviting and enjoyable and funky, there is just enough time to get lost for a moment and just float along with the music before you come back to reality.

Brycon has been having a great 2022, and The Tremont Waters EP is no exception. This easily could have been a forgettable filler of a release, but instead he gave us a really soulful instrumental hip hop release that will grab your attention and have you bobbing your head and moving your feet before you even realize what’s happening.
