Sweatson Klank is a Los Angeles producer who has been putting out music for a little over two decades, first under the name TAKE before switching over to his current moniker in the early 2010s. Over those years, he’s worked with labels like Brainfeeder, Alphapup, and Project Mooncircle. Most recently, he’s found a home with Friends of Friends, who released his latest album, Good Days, just this past January. For his latest project, he’s teamed up with the now Los Angeles-based producer Rite Along to make an EP, Lucky Shores.

Sometimes you don’t need to overthink things. Sometimes you put to talented veterans like Sweatson Klank and Rite Along together, and you just let them bang out four beautiful downtempo beats and call it day. Lucky Shores is just full of great grooves, with plenty of West Coast funk, jazz, and hip hop coming together with some Afro-Latin influence as well. It’s the type of music that makes for a gorgeous soundtrack as you travel around by yourself as the sun rises, letting the light shine over you as these beats envelope you. Klank and Rite have great chemistry together, and they do a great job of really developing each song, making sure that they’ve got some memorable melodies that will stay with you, and keeping the song in motion so that it never feels stagnant. Most importantly, the four songs flow incredibly well, one to the next, so that you will always want to listen to the entire EP each time and get the full experience.
