Back in 2015, Bay Area producers G-Pek and Brycon got together to work on a Halloween themed project called There’s No More Room in Hell. It went so well, the next year they recruited Eons One to a be a part of it, and each year it just seems to get bigger, both in terms of the roster and the scope of the project, and There’s No More Room in Hell 6 is no exception.

For the sixth volume, Brycon and G-Pek have rounded up fellow producers Argonaut, BeatsMe, B.I.Lectric, The Architect, Eons One, and Fatees to join in on the fun. This time around, each producer is getting a track to do whatever they want with it. That means that over the course of eight tracks, we’re getting songs about Frankenstein, zombies, werewolves, mysterious deaths, satanism, and more. Some lean more in the comical tone, and some lean into the spooky and eerie side, but the key here is that neither lean so far in either direction that you feel disconnected between tracks. Another key to this project is that we’re not just getting some sort of eerie beat tape. The shortest track on here is four minutes long, and the longest comes in at seven and a half. This is important because with each track, the producer is taking you on a journey, sometimes even putting in acts or movements, trying to tell a story that’s completely contained within their contribution. They might use some choice audio clips to help outline the story, but it’s really up to the musical development of each track to make this project succeed, and it does. They’re chopping up vintage records to get weird synth and organ sounds and orchestral samples and playing between programmed drum sounds and symphonic percussion, but again, it’s the way each producer involved really cleverly composes and arranges their tracks to take you on this spooky journey that really makes everything come together and reach that next level.

There’s No More Room in Hell 6 is a fun tradition, but it’s also the evolution of a project that gets better and more ambitious each year. G-Pek and Brycon really raised the bar this year, delivering their most musical and spooky project yet.
