Che` Noir is an artist from Buffalo, New York who has been releasing music for about the last five years. Her last release, The Last Remnants, came out in October of last year. Now she has come right back with another album, Noir or Never.

To make this album, Noir is enlisted the help of producer Big Ghost Ltd, then got additional live instrumentation from Hector Puente Colon Jr & The Santiago Men’s Basketball Philharmonic Orchestra, and then getting cuts from D-Styles as well. This all comes together to present a really straightforward East Coast boom bap album, one that hits hard and features plenty of carefully crafted rhymes from Noir. It’s not anything you haven’t heard from Noir before, but she’s doing what she does really well, so it doesn’t really matter. It just matters that this album hits on all the right notes, and that Noir knows how to hold your attention and deliver these rhymes that touch on everything from the personal to her journey as an artist to some old fashioned shit talking. It also doesn’t hurt that we’re also getting guest spots from Flee Lord, 7xvethegenius, Planet Asia, Skyzoo, Ransom, and 38 Spesh, who all add some extra flavor as they join in on the fun. Skyzoo in particular makes for a nice complement to Noir’s style on “Brilliance,” the track I probably returned to the most, as it’s just so much fun to hear these two try to outdo each other.

Noir or Never is exactly what you expect from a Che` Noir album, which is incredibly solid, with nice East Coast boom bap beats that hit hard, and rhymes that match that intensity. She’s been at this for a minute now, and Noir knows exactly what she’s about and she knows how to deliver at a high level each time.
